![]() Ei! I'm back (sort of)! There's only one very, very vivid memory of my summer in my head right now - the Regional Youth Conference. It was fun! I can still recall every detail so clearly.
May 3-5 Boso Boso, Antipolo QC stake, QC South stake, and Novaliches Stake Day 1 Cubao ward, Quirino 1st ward, Quirino 2nd ward, and QC 2nd ward assembled at 6:30 AM in our chapel. I was so excited to go, and I could tell nobody was as excited as me (I packed 7 days before the camp). haha... I saw all my friends and we got our IDs a little later and saw that all the straps were red, unlike last year's youth con, the straps were color coordinated according to age. I didn't see Manman, so I was kinda bummed... When it was time to get on the bus, Kuya Jay started taking pictures of us. As usual, we'd crowd the aisle of the bus and won't sit down until someone gave the opening prayer. In a few minutes, we were off to Boso Boso! KARMA: wala si Manman The bus ride didn't take too long, I think we were the closest ward to our destination. Oh yeah, we used the buddy system. My buddy was Hazel. I thought "oh no". You see, when Hazel and I are together, there is MAJOR hypractivity. We can't stop laughing! haha! And that's exactly what happened - we couldn't sleep on the way there, we led the asaran i the bus, and we were the noisiest people there! Finally we got to Boso Boso. It was really hot there. I still think Raven Resort (last year's venue) was better, but Boso Boso was okay. Only a few people have arrived when we reached the basketball court. I think they were from QC stake. We waited quite a while before everyone else atrted coming in. I jumped when I saw my friends from last year's youth conference. I was so happy! Hazel and I went over to Elysse and Jeneen to catch up with them. I also saw, Iani, Gerts, Princess, and Paolo. Too bad Inno wasn't there... KARMA: wala si Inno They gave us a briefing on the house rules and blah blah blah when the youth of all three stakes were complete. Oh and Kuya Jay gave us stickers to identify our age group. We went to our rooms a little later to have lunch. I was glad to know that we would be staying in rooms by ward. That meant our own bathroom, no old leaders telling us to keep quiet, windows, airconditioning, and camwhoring! Yesss! After lunch, we headed back to the basketball court. We had games after. We were asked to form according to age group and then divided into two again. I saw a really cute guy from QC stake. haha... Let's call him Market. I wanted to be in the same group as him, but it didn't happen. I envy my brother for being in the same group as him and even more for talking to him! haha... The games were not as fun as last year's though... We played this game where you toss one of your shoes in the center of the cirle then someone gets one shoes and find the owner and introduces himself/herself. My friends and I wanted to get each other's shoes. They got away with it, but I didn't. KARMA: yung tsinelas, yung saranggolang mukahang jellyfish Dance social... At first I was really, really hesitant to dance, but I ended up dancing until my feet got sore! haha... My primary objective was to get Kat to dance with Nephi, and guess what? It happened! haha! They looked so cute together, and Neph looked charming when he reached out his hand and smiled towards Katrina as he asked her to dance. My young women friends and I started shouting when we saw them! Hazel even left the guy she was dancing with just to go to them! haha... ANDDD... Manman came! He was seated next to me for a time and I was even able to talk to him, bwahaha... My dance buddies that night were Hazel and Jay-R. Our young women also taught the young men how to ballroom dance because according to their leaders, they have two left feet. Ballroom pa naman yung theme ng dance social. haha... It was fun anyway. I was surprised when the music shifted to slow, sweet music because our leaders discouraged dancing to such music. I didn't enjoy dances like those either, but that night was different. I always thought that music like that was reserved for lovers alone and that there would always be akward silences between you and your partner, but my friends proved me wrong. Sometimes Troy was my partner, sometimes Jay-R, and even Hazel beacame my partner - meaning Troy and Jay-R were paired. Nah, just kidding. haha! Anyway, we were dancing at our own pace - A fast beat! We even ended up banging each other with a tango-ish step. It was super fun, and it removed my ilang feeling towards dances like these. |
